Conference “Preventive and Planned Conservation – Toward a Shared Protocol in Places of Culture”
From May 7 to 9, 2025, the Convention “Preventive and Planned Conservation – Toward a Shared Protocol in the Places of Culture” will be held by the Department for the Enhancement of Cultural Heritage, the General Directorate of Museums, the Colosseum Archaeological Park and the National Museums of Perugia – Regional Directorate National Museums Umbria. The Conference will be hosted in Rome by the Curia Iulia, at the Colosseum Archaeological Park, on Wednesday, May 7 and Thursday, May 8, from 9 a.m., and then move to Perugia, on Friday, May 9, at the Palazzo dei Priori, in the Conference Room of the National Gallery of Umbria.
The Conference aims to stimulate a constructive discussion among museum institutions, both public and private, with the intention of taking stock of what has been devised and implemented so far in the field of cultural heritage conservation. The goal is to initiate a shared strategic plan that promotes maintenance and prevention through a systematic approach, capable of enhancing and networking the many positive experiences already in place in numerous museum contexts. Through a dialogue between different realities, the conference aims to offer a broad and articulate overview of ongoing or already documented projects, encouraging a common reflection on the theme of conservation. The aim is thus to overcome the logic of sporadic interventions, in order to move towards an ongoing, planned and multidisciplinary management, capable of ensuring a more effective and sustainable care of cultural places.
Places are limited so mandatory reservations must be made by 05/05/2025. An A/R transfer by private coach from Rome to Perugia is also provided.
